Resurfacing after being bitten by a Big Black Dog!

Well it got me good this time around earlier this week, but I am pleased to be on the other side of it now.  I feel so much for the parents with young kids needing to be homeschooled and just generally feeling scared about the future for us all.

I have struggled with the "bloody black dog" for most of my life but it's usually kept in check pretty well for the last number of years but I think the reality of where this "Bloody Covid" thing could go has really knocked me this week along with a couple of other little things going on.  But am now feeling a lot more positive which is great to feel again.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this because I do go AWOL every so often because of this so I hope you can understand.  The wonderful thing for me is creativity is what usually saves me at the end of a dark period and you all are following to see what I come up with, so I'd like you to understand when things seem to go a bit south.

The other reason for sharing is that this stuff is just so common but so many of us still don't like making it known to even those that are close to us, but I think the more we share the more we can be there for eachother in the crazy world at the moment.  I have always been pretty open publicly about it for that reason.  I find people can then acknowledge that they understand from personal experience or it gives them confidence in being able to talk about their story too.

So please don't feel ashamed to talk about your mental health because it truly does help to know people who understand by their own experiences, are out there who "get" what it's like and often just need to hear others talking first before they feel comfortable speaking too.

Stay strong people -  Covid is taking lives which is scary but depression is always taking them too  - speak up and reach out  PLEASE. <3
